Our Mission:
Social Stars Learning Center is a preschool program that strives to
provide children in our community with an opportunity to learn and apply skills necessary to excel in life.
What do we do?
Our program is specifically designed for children aged 2½ to school age and is rooted in the deep growth potential that occurs during the brain's most significant period. Sometimes, children come to us presenting with behaviors that stem from trauma or other life factors. Additionally, some families seek our services due to our unique adult-first self-regulation practice, which models skills from a top-down approach. We arm kids with super skills they need to conquer the world, one fun lesson at a time!
Each building has two classrooms. The first classroom, designed for the youngest children, focuses on building essential foundation skills for safety and relationships with caregivers. After graduating from this class, the children move on to the mastery class, where they learn independent self-regulation and skills to solve everyday problems on their own. After two years in the program, a child will transition to kindergarten and may continue to receive supports if needed to ensure success, or they may completely graduate from services at South Central Mental Health!
